Lets start a Jetski Club for Irish Jetskiers! E-mail

Lets start a Jetski Club for Irish Jetskiers! With Jetskis so popular in Ireland now, I thought it is about time we all got together and formed an official club for 2 major reasons:

1. So we can organise events, share jetski locations,  meet other jetskiers and basically get a bit of a buzz into group events for Jetskiers.

2. Since my 2 local lakes have now banned Jetskis

, I feel its only a matter of time before more and more lakes/bays ban Jetskis. The ban in my 2 local lakes was due to a group of irresponsible Jetskiers who made a nuisance of themselves to the local swimmers, and fishermen and sailors. Banning for these kinds of reasons seems to be common accross the country.

Speaking to local officals, gardai, councillors, and the department of the marine the only way to stop the outright banning of Jetskis from some waterways is to regulate the use of Jetskis. However, I am very afraid that this will be left to a governemnt offical/minister who will then set up a committee of non-jetskiers to come up with way to regulate jetski use. This way, anyone with a Jetski licence can use a jetski in any waterway in Ireland provided they follow the jetski safety rules and regulations(eg: no jetsking near swimmers)

So my suggestion is, lets form a jetski Club, then after thats done, as a group of people lets come up with a plan to regulate Jetskis which will not limit our fun but it will give guidelines for safe, responsible use of Jetskis. Then the ban on Jetskis can be removed.
